CheerForce is an athletic training center located in Simi Valley, California. We are dedicated to providing our students with the best "cheer education" possible. Whether you want to learn the skills of cheerleading, brush up for high school tryouts, or compete with our National Champion teams, CheerForce is for you! CheerForce also offers instruction to our local Pop Warner cheerleading teams and high school cheer teams. If you have a need, we will find an answer! CheerForce began in 2001 with two teams, and as with many cheer programs, practiced in parks and community centers. After some reorganization and focus on Simi Valley's students in the summer of 2002, we moved into our first 2,500 sq-ft gym with three teams. With the growth of our introductory classes and tumbling classes, 8 months later we ran out of space! We then moved down the street to our second 6,500 sq-ft facility. Now in our 9th season, our Simi Valley location just opened our brand new state of the art gym with two full 54x42 spring floors with DVR video replay , a tumbling class spring floor, Tumbl-trak, Rod floor, and more. As we now head into our 10th season, we continue to offer competitive cheer teams, tumbling classes, introductory cheer classes, cheer camps, & private lessons. With six successful seasons under our belt, and some guidance from the most highly recognized professionals in our industry, CheerForce is not just about cheerleading, but about creating an experience your child will never forget. What sets CheerForce apart from other programs in the area?
There are many outstanding programs in Southern California, and we would never
venture to say that we are better than any of them. What we can say, is that
CheerForce sets an extremely high standard for cheerleading in our area.
Not only do our students receive instruction from highly trained Coaches
(view Coach bios), we also teach good
sportsmanship, respect, confidence and the pure joy of cheering in a safe
environment.
What if I can't afford it?
Our introductory classes are amongst the lowest in the area, offering classes
as
low as $5 a week. Our competition teams can take part in fundraisers
through the CheerForce Booster Club, and we've created a Sponsor Program, whereby
students can ask local businesses to sponsor their monthly fees.
What does a competition team typically do in a year?
For one year, we learn high level, exciting routines taught by
our qualified staff. Routines will be
taken to local Southern California competitions & 1 competition in Las Vegas.
Our higher level advanced teams also travel to competitions at exciting
destinations such as Atlanta, GA & Orlando, FL!! Coaches
emphasize discipline and teamwork to meet all of our goals.
- Colleges offer scholarships to Cheerleaders.
- CheerForce has a College Scholarship Program for returning students.
According to the President’s Council of Physical Fitness and Sports:
- Regular physical activity in adolescence can reduce girls’ risk for obesity and hyperlipidemia (high levels of fat in the blood), which in turn have been known to be associated with lower adult onset of coronary heart disease and certain cancers.
- Regular physical activity can also helps girls build greater peak bone mass, thereby reducing the adult risk for osteoporosis.
- Exercise and sport participation can enhance mental health by offering adolescent girls positive feelings about body, image, improved self-esteem, tangible experiences of success and increase self-confidence.
- Sports are an educational asset in girls’ lives. Research findings show that many high school female athletes report higher grades and standardized test scores and lower dropout rates, and are more likely to go to college than their non-athletic counterparts.
- Physical activity is an effective tool for reducing the symptoms of stress and depression among girls.
According to the Trinity Center for Women and Girls in Sports:
- Girls who participate in sports are less likely to get involved with drugs, less likely to become pregnant and more likely to graduate from high school than those who do not play sports.
- Women who are student athletes graduate at significantly higher rates (69 percent) than female students generally (58 percent).
- Half of all girls who participate in sports experience higher than average levels of self-esteem and less depression.
- Women who were active in sports as girls, feel greater confidence, self-esteem and pride in their physical and social selves than those who were sedentary as kids.
Although many of these studies focused on adolescent, high school, collegiate athletes, if young girls fail to play in their younger years, it is unlikely they will be able to compete at these higher levels because of lack of experience and skill. So, it is important that parents and girls begin thinking about playing sports at age 6 or 7yr.
